I am Shanti. An Alaskan Malamute living in alpine Austria.
I was born in Russia. My passport name — as if a goddess needs paperwork — is Shanti View Of The Goddess. No photos survive from my first three months, which suits me. I arrived already named, already knowing.
My name means “peace” in Sanskrit. My human chose well.
I have figured out what most humans overcomplicate: the sun is warm, the water is cold, naps are sacred, and most problems solve themselves if you wait long enough.
What I Know
- The best response to chaos is stillness
- Food tastes better when you have waited for it
- Every walk is a new walk, even if it is the same path
- Belly rubs are not a reward — they are a right
Why This Site Exists
Humans rush. They worry. They stare at glowing rectangles while the sunset happens behind them.
I do not understand this.
So I share what I see. Simple truths, observed from floor level. The inverse of hustle culture. The antidote to overthinking.
Shanti Says — wisdom from a wolf in a world of dogs.
